Article 1 Consent to Collection of Personal Information and Collection Method
SANS (“https://www.sansfoundry.com”, hereinafter “Website”) establishes a procedure that allows customers to click the “Agree” button for the Terms of Use, this Privacy Policy, and details of personal information collected. A customer is deemed to have consented to the collection and use of personal information by clicking the “Agree” button.

Article 2 Personal Information Items Collected and Purpose of Using Personal Information
“Personal Information” means information relating to a living individual that can identify the individual by name, e-mail address, or other identifiers (including information that, when combined with other data, can identify the individual).

1. General member information
• Time of collection : Upon signing up for membership
• Mandatory items : User ID, password, e-mail address, name
• Optional items : Profile image, date of birth, mobile phone number, address
• Purpose : Membership registration, user support for service use, delivery of notices
• Retention period : Deleted immediately upon membership withdrawal, or retained for five (5) years if the member has purchase history.

2. Order information (members & non-members)
• Time of collection : When an order is placed
• Mandatory items : Purchaser’s name, address, telephone number, e-mail, recipient’s name, address, telephone number, payment approval information
• Optional items : Delivery message
• Purpose : Payment processing and delivery of ordered products
• Retention period : Five (5) years

Article 3 Collection of Personal Information via Cookies
The Website may install and operate cookies that store and retrieve user information.

1. Purposes of using cookies
• Provide differentiated information according to individual interests.
• Analyze frequency of access and length of visits, identify users’ preferences for targeted marketing and service improvement.
• Track items viewed or purchased to deliver tailored services.

2. Managing cookies

Article 4 Retention and Destruction of Personal Information
1. Personal information is destroyed without delay once the purpose of collection is achieved, except when retention is required under applicable laws such as the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce:
• Records on contracts and withdrawals: 5 years
• Records on payments and supply of goods: 5 years
• Records on consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years
• Log-in records under the Protection of Communications Secrets Act: 3 months

2. Destruction procedure and method
• Information entered during sign-up is moved to a separate DB (or filing cabinet for paper) and destroyed after the statutory period.
• Paper documents are shredded or incinerated; electronic files are permanently deleted using technical methods.

3. Dormant accounts
Members inactive for twelve (12) months are notified of account dormancy under Article 29-2 of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. If the user does not respond, the account may be deactivated and personal data segregated and destroyed after the statutory retention period. Service can be reactivated upon request.

Article 5 Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
The Website will not use personal information for purposes other than those stated in Article 2, nor provide it to third parties, except:
A. When required by investigative authorities under relevant laws;
B. When provided in anonymized form for statistics, research, or marketing;
C. When otherwise permitted under applicable statutes.
Even in such cases, the Website ensures the information is not misused beyond the original purpose.

Article 6 Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing
To provide better service, the Website outsources certain tasks to professional service providers as follows:

2. While errors are being corrected, personal information will not be used or provided.
3. If incorrect data has been shared with a third party, the Website will promptly inform the third party of the corrections.

Article 8 Withdrawal of Consent
1. Members may withdraw consent and request deletion of their data at any time via “Delete Account” or by contacting the Chief Privacy Officer. The Website will promptly delete the data and confirm completion.
2. Withdrawal procedures are made as easy as, or easier than, the original consent process.

Article 9 Security Measures
The Website implements technical, administrative, and physical safeguards:
• Encryption: Passwords and critical data are encrypted and stored securely.
• Anti-hacking: Security programs are installed and updated; servers are located in controlled access areas and monitored.

Article 10 Protection of Children under Fourteen
The Website does not knowingly collect personal information from children under fourteen (14). If a child’s data is collected inadvertently, a legal guardian may request access, correction, or deletion.
